Man-made crisis, not man-made climate

They lied.

For the last 20 or so years, there has been much hue and cry raised by the proponents of man- made global warming. The planet, they said, was facing impending doom. And to back up their claims, those proponents were quick to produce climate models based on the very latest technology proving that, indeed, thanks to human endeavor, particularly human endeavor involving those in the world's most vibrant economies, temperatures were about to rise beyond the point of no return.

They lied.

We have been told by the proponents of man-made global warming that the science was settled, that consensus had been reached. We have been told that unless drastic measures are taken, the future will be bleak. We have been told that carbon dioxide, a naturally occur ring gas, is a threat to the planet. We have been told that it is an imperative for Americans, especially, to forgo most of the conveniences of modern life, that Americans willingly sacrifice their earnings, and their freedom, for the sake of preventing the seas from rising and the polar ice caps from melting.

We have been told much by the proponents of man-made global warning.

But they lied.

Shortly before Thanksgiving, a whistleblower made public a wealth of information garnered from the computers at the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit. Those computer files included both e-mails and documents from the scientists at the institution, an institution long cited as the premier source of global-warming information. East Anglia was the primary source for the United Nations and its myriad conferences de signed to establish some sort of global dictate aimed at destroying the national sovereignty of the United States and confiscating its wealth. Those computer files also revealed correspondence with like- minded academics in other parts of the free world.

What the computer files ultimately revealed, however, is that the "scientists" at East Anglia were engaged in a massive fraud. They purposely falsified data. They deliberately used their position to denigrate those who questioned their conclusions and to do all they could to prevent those they called "deniers" from access to publishing any thing outside of the man-made global warming orthodoxy. Any data contrary to their orthodoxy was manipulated to fit the computer models they created. They willfully discarded primary data and masked other information to avoid compliance with the Freedom of Information Act.

In other words, they lied.

The so-called science of man-made global warming, the clarion call of a failed presidential candidate who has yet to answer any questions - and who assiduously refuses to engage in any kind of conversation or debate with anyone of a contrary opinion - about either man-made global warming or the prevarications set forth in his book, may have finally been revealed for what it is.

The "science" of man-made global warming has nothing whatsoever to do with climatology. It is, in fact, entirely political, and predicated on a premise of money and power, the political control of a country founded on the principles of individual freedom and liberty. It was a criminal conspiracy.

In telling the world that man-made global warming was a crisis, they lied.

Those lies, however, have had dire consequences. In espousing their theories on man-made global warming, the "scientists" who deliberately falsified data did so while accepting the premise of "if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, eco nomic or military consequences of the lie." Those lies led to the coercion of businesses. In forcing the passage of legislation banning incandescent light bulbs, the global warmists strong-armed General Electric into creating a new light bulb, a mercury-filled light bulb that presents a serious health hazard if broken. The new bulbs, in fact, represent something of an irony, for the radical environmentalists, a group that includes the global warmists, have long railed against the mercury contamination of fish that find their way to the table, yet apparently think nothing of the fact that a broken mercury bulb would literally force the evacuation of a house.

Those lies have prevented the exploration and development of oilfields and oil refineries within the United States. They have fostered the misguided notion of using the nation's food supply for fuel. They have denied the development of other natural resources.

Those lies have also blatantly ignored the simple, provable fact that average global temperatures have stopped rising during the last 10 years.

There are, undoubtedly, those true believers who will, even when presented with the lies and deceit promulgated by the "scientists" at East Anglia and else where, continue to claim that man-made global warming is about to destroy the planet. Those true believers, however, are unlikely to recognize the real hubris behind those beliefs that man, who they seem to believe is apart from rather than a part of nature, is capable of doing anything close to what nature has shown itself capable of in the hurricanes and tornadoes and volcanic eruptions and tsunamis and earthquakes that strike without warning.

But the true believers are not responsible for the fraud behind the man-made global-warming proponents. Their belief is in the money -the grants they receive from sympathetic foundations and governments to further their prevarications - and the power - the control that will come from legislation and protocols arising from their prevarications - not in any altruistic motive.

We have been told by the global warmists that the science is settled. We have been told by the global warmists that we must return to a Stone Age existence to save the planet. We have been told by the global warmists that they know best. But now we know.

They lied.
